About Kori Lynn Wilder
I’m an astrologer, storyteller, and interpreter of pattern, timing, and meaning. My work blends traditional technique, psychological insight, and predictive astrology to help people understand the deeper story they are living.
Below is a more personal conversation about how I came to astrology, how I work with prediction, and what I’m really listening for when I read a chart.
BECOMING THE ASTROLOGER
When did astrology stop being interesting and start becoming undeniable?
Astrology entered my life early. I was eight years old at summer camp when someone first told me I was a Gemini, and I don’t think I ever really stopped thinking about it after that.
By the time I was seventeen, I was sitting in a Vedic astrologer’s office for my first consultation. This was long before everyone was doing readings online, and I kept returning to that same astrologer over the years. There was always something about astrology that felt important to me — something I wanted to understand, something I wanted to trust.
But I also have a very analytical mind. I don’t take things at face value just because they sound beautiful or mysterious. I have to test them. I have to collect the data. I have to watch something become true before I can call it undeniable.
That happened for me through transit work.
When I began seriously studying Western astrology, especially psychological, predictive, traditional, and Hellenistic techniques, I started tracking timing in relation to lived experience. I watched charts speak through real events, real turning points, real patterns in people’s lives. That was the shift. Astrology stopped being something I was fascinated by and became something I could stand behind.
My practice now draws from multiple branches of astrology. I use traditional technique for structure, modern planets for the reality of modern life, and psychological and evolutionary astrology for the deeper story of becoming. I’m not interested in astrology as vague mysticism or performance. I’m interested in astrology as symbolic interpretation: a language of pattern, timing, and meaning.
I think of myself as an interpreter. I read symbols, patterns, and timing, and I translate them into something a person can actually recognize in their life.
“I think of myself as an interpreter.”
What might surprise people about you?
I’m a comedian.
I’ve done stand-up, improv, and storytelling for several years, and I absolutely use those skills in my astrology practice. Improv and storytelling are the backbone of how I communicate with people. They shape how I listen, how I follow a thread, how I name a pattern, and how I help someone understand the story they are inside.
I’m also a psychology student, with the long-term goal of becoming a counselor, a path that continues to deepen the way I listen, reflect, and hold people in my astrology practice.
I think people might be surprised by how analytical and skeptical I am, and sometimes irreverent. I’m not interested in making astrology feel untouchable or overly precious.
So if you are skeptical, that’s okay. I’m not offended.
Me too.
I’ve reached a point where astrology has been tested enough in my own life and in my practice that I don’t feel like I have to argue with myself about it anymore.
Astrology works. Timing is real. Prediction works.
I’m comfortable saying that now.
But I don’t need you to be there before you walk through the door.
INSIDE THE READING
What are you actually listening for when you read someone’s chart?
I’m listening before we ever get into session.
If you’ve booked a Private Astrology Consultation with me, I’ve already spent time with your chart. I’ve looked at the mechanics of it: how it works together, which chords are playing, where the current transits are making contact, and which themes are being pressed on or awakened.
I’m listening for the hum of the chart before we meet.
And then, when we’re in session, I’m listening to you.
People sometimes come into astrology readings wondering whether the astrologer can tell them everything without their participation. But a reading with me is an equal partnership. I am an intuitive person, but I don’t rely on intuition alone when I’m reading a chart, and I don’t present myself as psychic. I’m reading symbols, timing, and patterns, and I’m listening closely to how those patterns are living through you.
As you talk, I have your chart in front of me and, in a way, in my mind. The parts of the chart you’re speaking to start to light up. I can hear where you are sitting in the chart right now. I can feel when a particular configuration is activated: the tension of a T-square, the pressure of a transit, the stuckness of a pattern that is asking to be named.
From there, I counsel. I name the theme. We talk about the mythology of the placements, the signs, the planets, and how they relate to what is happening in your life now. Then we look at the timing and talk honestly about what the chart suggests may be unfolding next.
“I’m listening for the hum of the chart before we meet.”
What makes a reading feel accurate instead of just flattering?
A flattering reading tells you what you already want to hear.
An accurate reading brings something real to the surface.
I think we live in a time where astrology is everywhere. There is sun sign astrology, meme astrology, TikTok astrology, astrology for entertainment and comedy, and I enjoy some of that. It can be fun. It can be charming. But a private reading is something different.
A real chart reading is not about blowing smoke or stroking someone’s ego. It requires the astrologer to understand the myth of each placement, sign, planet, and aspect, and to be willing to go beneath the surface.
That is what I am doing in a reading. I am looking at the psychology underneath the pattern. I’m listening for the default setting. I’m asking: what are you doing unconsciously? What belief is quietly dictating your choices? What pattern keeps repeating? Where are you stuck, and what is the chart showing us about why?
I am willing to go there with you. Gently, but honestly.
Sometimes accuracy feels like an epiphany. Sometimes it feels like relief. Sometimes it stings a little because something true has finally been named. Sometimes it lets you put something down. Sometimes it helps you see the core belief you have been living from, so you can decide whether you still want to keep living from it.
To me, a reading feels accurate when you feel witnessed where you are, even if you are not ready to move yet. And sometimes, when you are ready, it gives you enough clarity to take the next step.
“An accurate reading brings something real to the surface.”
How do you work with prediction without making people feel powerless?
I struggled with this for a long time.
There have been seasons where I questioned how much free will we actually have. I still think that is a much more complicated question than most people are comfortable admitting. But in a reading, I am not interested in making someone feel trapped inside a prediction.
Over time, through practice and repetition, I’ve learned something important about my own accuracy: the more I try to name the exact outcome, the more likely I am to lose the thread. When I try to step too far into the client’s life and craft the whole narrative for them, the prediction becomes less precise, not more.
I am much more accurate when I zoom out.
My work is strongest when I stay with the archetypal pattern, the myth, the timing, and the phase of life a person is moving through. I can talk about whether something is beginning, building, peaking, declining, or coming to an end. I can talk about what kind of story the chart is describing, where the pressure is increasing, where something is opening, or where something may be dropping away.
I use multiple predictive techniques: transits, secondary progressions, solar arc directions, zodiacal releasing, profections, and solar return charts. But the goal is not to take over someone’s choices.
The goal is to give them language. A lens. A pair of glasses they can put on and say, “Oh. This is the kind of pattern I’m in.”
That is where prediction becomes useful instead of disempowering. I give people the language to apply to their own lives, so they can stay in their own power.
“The goal is to give them language. A lens. A pair of glasses they can put on...”
THE WORK BETWEEN US
What kind of person tends to get the most out of a reading with you?
I think the person who gets the most out of a reading with me is someone whose heart is open.
Maybe they’ve been a little weathered by life. Maybe they’re seeking answers, or hope, or just some kind of understanding about why things have happened the way they have.
I think that kind of person is the most willing to listen and be changed.
And I do think astrology has the power to change people, to give hope, understanding, and clarification, if they’re ready to receive it.
What do you hope someone feels when they leave a session with you?
Witnessed.
More than anything, I hope someone leaves a session with me feeling witnessed. I hope they feel hopeful. I hope they feel more grounded in themselves, stronger, and more confident.
I hope they feel empowered to keep doing life. To make the choice they’ve been putting off. To stand inside the part of themselves that maybe they forgot was there.
I want people to feel truly seen for what they bring to the table, for the special kind of humanity that is their own and that no one else can do. If I can name that for them, if I can bring it up to the surface so they can step inside it more fully and consciously, then the reading has done what I believe astrology is here to do.
One of my teachers, Maria DeSimone, says, “Nothing ever too good or too bad ever lasts too long.” I think about that all the time.
The wheel keeps turning. Life does not stay steady forever. There is never a final arrival point where you get there, and everything is smooth sailing from then on. That is not how life works.
But I hope a reading helps you feel more able to stand in the good seasons and the awful ones. I hope you leave feeling more powerful because you understand the chapter you’re in: how long it may last, what it is asking of you, and what good may still be coming as you turn the page.
“Witnessed.”
